ความเป็นมา : โครงการอ่างเก็บน้ำห้วยน้ำเขียว จ.กระบี่ เป็นหนึ่งในโครงการอันเนื่องจากพระราชดำริ ในหลวง รัชกาลที่ 9 ที่ช่วยจัดสรรน้ำให้ชาวบ้านกว่า 4 พันครัวเรือน ให้มีน้ำอุปโภค บริโภคตลอดทั้งปี โดยไม่เคยขาดแคลนน้ำ สำหรับโครงการอ่างเก็บน้ำห้วยน้ำเขียว อันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ตั้งอยู่หมู่ที่ 4 ต.คลองท่อมใต้ อ.คลองท่อม จ.กระบี่ เป็นอ่างเก็บน้ำขนาดกลาง สร้างขึ้นเมื่อปี 2529 หลังจากสภาตำบลคลองท่อมใต้ มีหนังสือกราบบังคมทูลขอพระราชทานพระมหากรุณาธิคุณ เพื่อบรรเทาความเดือดร้อนให้กับราษฎรในการใช้น้ำเพื่ออุปโภค บริโภค รวมทั้งจัดหาน้ำให้กับทหารในค่าย ร.15 พัน 1 จึงมีการจัดสร้างขึ้นเป็นโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ ทั้งนี้ โครงการอ่างเก็บน้ำห้วยน้ำเขียว มีเนื้อที่เก็บน้ำประมาณ 800 ไร่ ขนาดสันเขื่อนกว้าง 6 เมตร ยาว 2.8 กม. ความลึก 35 เมตร สามารถกักเก็บน้ำได้ 7 ล้านลูกบาศก์เมตร มีระบบส่งน้ำแบบท่อฝังดินไปตามหมู่บ้านต่างๆ ในพื้นที่หมู่บ้าน 3 4 5 8 และ 9 ต.คลองท่อมใต้ ประมาณ 1,000 ครัวเรือน และจ่ายน้ำให้กับการประปาส่วนภูมิภาคผลิตน้ำประปาในพื้นที่ อ.คลองท่อม ทั้งหมด รวมวันละ 4,800 ลูกบาศก์เมตร ใช้งบประมาณ 120 ล้านบาท The Huay Nam Khiew Reservoir project in Krabi province is part of the initiatives stemming from royal benevolence during the reign of King Rama IX. It was established to allocate water resources to over 4,000 households, ensuring a year-round supply for consumption. The reservoir, located in Moo 4, Tambon Klong Thom Tai, Amphoe Klong Thom, Krabi, was built in 1986 following a request from the local administration. The project, initiated by the Klong Thom Tai sub-district council, received royal support through a formal request for royal grace to alleviate water shortages for both civilian and military needs. Covering an area of approximately 800 acres, the medium-sized reservoir has a dam width of 6 meters, a length of 2.8 kilometers, and a depth of 35 meters. It has a storage capacity of 7 million cubic meters and features an underground pipe system that supplies water to various villages in the area, specifically villages 3, 4, 5, 8, and 9 in Tambon Klong Thom Tai. Approximately 1,000 households benefit from this water distribution, and the system also supports regional water supply for irrigation purposes in the Klong Thom district. The project, costing around 120 million Baht, has significantly contributed to addressing water scarcity issues in the region since its completion in 1986.
